About the Scimitar Horned Oryx

The scimitar horned oryx is the species that defines what 3-S does best. Declared extinct in the wild by the IUCN, the species survives today almost entirely on managed Texas ranches — and hunting these herds is precisely what funds their recovery.

Under the federal ‘Three Amigos’ exemption, U.S. captive-bred scimitar oryx can be hunted without an individual federal permit — precisely because Texas ranches like 3-S are the reason the species still exists. Every harvest is documented and contributes directly to herd genetics and habitat. Bulls carry long, ringed, scimitar-curved horns that frequently exceed 40 inches.

Hunts take place across open grassland on our Bedias property, typically spot-and-stalk. Our guides put you on mature, representative animals — this is a once-in-a-lifetime trophy with a story no whitetail can match.
