3-S stewards four conservation species in Texas — scimitar oryx, addax, red lechwe, and barasingha — that are endangered or extinct in the wild. Red lechwe and barasingha are hunted under USFWS permit. Scimitar oryx and addax fall under the federal ‘Three Amigos’ exemption. A portion of every conservation hunt is reinvested directly into the herds, habitat, and SHSU research that keep these animals on the landscape.

Chris Stewart, ranch manager, holds a Master's in Wildlife Ecology, is a founding lecturer in Sam Houston State University's wildlife management program, and serves as Region 4 Director of the Texas Deer Association. Randy Stewart owns and oversees the operation. This is a ranch managed by credentialed wildlife professionals — not a hunting club with a brochure.
